The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare.

Woah.

I never had a chance to read this when I was in high school, all of my friends did, but I read Hamlet at the time instead (which I'm thrilled about because that's my favourite shakespeare play of all time!).
Julius Caesar is a tragedy like none other by Shakespeare. The main guy of the play doesn't die in Act 5, but in the middle of the play?! That's unheard of!

This work of Shakespeare also makes you question who to really root for. Who is good, who is bad, and who is misunderstood. I really liked that aspect of it. I really enjoyed reading this. It was not my favourite out of Shakespeare's works, but it was very entertaining!

Classic rise then fall/ betrayal tale.

wowow i finished !! i actually found the writing style vv interesting + alot of things id like to reread / analyse further ( e.g. brutus’ and anthony’s speeches in act iii ) also the reoccurrence of the word / concept of ‘love’ especially for the sake of rome.. that was interesting... i suppose that after all that happens, rome will live on,, anyways pretty good read i need to find a good performance of it to watch

- honestly my first shakespeare audiobinge in a while,, i more of blame this with me being not too into reading because i was still swept up with this other book,,, but this is still good.

:: shakespeare audio binge context - basically, i like making things hard for myself and refuse to add all the shakespeare stuff i read back in jhs unless i reread it again so i'm going for the audiobook approach because audiobook counts as reading and i want to read via audiobook so i'll do it via audiobook sksksksks

English class literature. Understood it, felt smart. Go English class.

I read this because I wanted to know why Brutus was just as cute as Caesar and why we should all just stab Caeser. I wish I could say it was more deep than that, but it really wasn’t lol. Anyway, I like no fear Shakespeare because then I actually understand things

I read this play during my Sophomore year of high school. I loved it! "Et tu, Brute!" I thought of it again because I'm reading "A Long Way Gone", and this play is referenced frequently.
