GREAT fun! Could spend forever with these clowns and the omnipresent anonymous wise guy narrator. Top five stories are A Piece of Pie, Social Error, Romance in the Roaring Forties, The Snatching of Bookie Bob, and Butch Minds the Baby

It was fun to read this play. I don’t understand how the play can run for so long when my copy was only about 80 pages. But I don’t know much about plays in general - I just know I like musicals!

Perhaps an acquired taste, Damon Runyon has a unique and marvelous style. These somewhat interconnected stories are a delight to read: lots of humor and pizazz. Highly recommended.

Hard to believe that this deserves a place in the Mustich 1,000 Books to Read, but they were not unenjoyable. I did chuckle every so often.
