CUTEEEE I forgot I never finished reading this so I hopped right back in and was happy to see I didn't forget too much.
Can't wait to immediately open volume three.

2.5 stars rounded down
I think I'm done with this series. Even though it's currently only 3 volumes, this was a slog to get through and I don't think I'm down for the rest of this story.
I had to go back and look at what I rated the first volume (5 stars... wild) so a drop to 2.5 is rather surprising to me. The first volume had story beyond just the main romance. There was character development and genuine plot. This volume had neither. The characters end the volume in the same place they start it. Chiharu is wistful and proactive and Wataru is painfully difficult and hesitant and altogether far too withdrawn and nervous. I found myself losing any desire to root for these two characters and their future together. Chiharu should cut his losses and find someone who wants to be with him and isn't afraid to show it. I've grown too impatient for Wataru to rise to the occasion.

Ah this is so sweet!!! I could keep reading about these two forever. I love the gentle pacing of the story and the nostalgic summertime vibes.
