The last page gave me chills. This book is so beautifully written with long and descriptive prose but at the same time tells of a mystery so compelling I couldn’t put it down. I want more time to digest this book and will definitely put it on my reread list.

This book got me back into reading. The author’s descriptions of the marsh and nature sucked me in and made me feel like I was in Kya’s world. Her story of resilience captured my heart and makes this my favorite book I have read in my life so far ❤️

Spärra in mig!

I really resisted reading this book... there was something about the story of a girl living in the marshlands all alone that did not feel like it would be believable.

That said, this was a wonderful, lyrical story. A little bit suspenseful with an ending that you might not have expected, what I liked most was how the author tied human behavior to nature. Fascinating.

There's so much to pick apart in this book, too! It makes you think about people marginalized and forced to live on the outskirts of society...

It makes me a little ashamed to be a member of the human race... and wish that we would let nature just go ahead and take over.
