What an adorable book on embroidery AND animals. I don't have a lot of time at the moment, but will be trying at least a couple of the designs from here.. This book is great for teaching beginners all the different types of stitches to be successful in this meditative craft.

Wow, I had no idea how many kinds of embroidery floss there are, and still don't know but the fact that there are over 175 colors used for this book is crazy!

With clearly described instructions this book is great for animal lovers who want to learn to do embroidery!

Great introductory section full of embroidery how-tos, and leveled projects that make it easy for embroiderers of any level to pick the right pattern for them (and feel motivated to keep practicing so that one day they can make that thread-painted hedgehog)! I appreciated the stitch library to reference while completing projects.

This was a very good informational book with tons of cute patterns. Originally checked out from the library but ended up purchasing my own.

Over the past pandemic year, I found myself picking up hobbies I had left behind years before and one of them was crewel embroidery. A lot of the kits I was finding were flowers or plants, and they are nice, but honestly, I get pretty bored embroidering flowers. I came across this book full of wonderful animal-based design ideas, as well as some new (to me) embroidery techniques (thread painting). The author explains everything very clearly and the projects cover a range of skill levels. There are templates at the back which can be photocopied and used to transfer the designs onto the embroidery cloth. I am really looking forward to working on the projects in this book and learning how to do thread painting.
