Too heavy on the irony and puns and too light on the self reflection and sincerity. I love a funny memoir, but this felt like she was just giggling at serious harm caused to herself and others instead of looking it in the eye and naming it as such. Yikes.
Moderate: Suicide attempt and Homophobia

I liked this book more and more once I fell into the storytelling and Lockwood's particular turns of phrase. I found the last third to be particularly affecting. This was a very vivid portrait of a strange upbringing. I appreciated the humor and love she used to approach her whole family, while still presenting a pretty unvarnished picture.

Moderate: Bullying, Excrement, Suicide attempt, and Self harm
Minor: Car accident, Infertility, Kidnapping, Murder, and Mental illness
