I think that, if nothing else, this book captures what it feels like to be a fifteen year old girl pretty well.

Good for a pallet cleanser after a heavier read, but if you’re not looking for that it’s a pass. The characters were very one dimensional in this book and the ending was very lacking for me

still good but my least favorite Dessen novel so far.

That Summer was Sarah Dessen's first published YA novel.

The book was ok, the most annoying thing to me was that it has long paragraphs, which I can't stand in a book. However, the story line didn't really go anywhere. It didn't really have a plot.

To me it can be summed up easily; A girl's parents divorce, she tries to find comfort in the past, then realilzes she can't live in the past.
