What a cute book! It was a very quick read, it maybe took me a half an hour, but it was very funny. The author takes on fairy tales and puts them in our world. Some are a little controversial, but overall, they are just in good fun. I think that it's a great way for us to look at our own technology led lives.

Cute, quick vignettes. A nice palate cleanser in-between other books.
funny fast-paced

Funny look at fairytales through a modern lens. A really quick, light read.

Some stories were funny, some I was nodding my head thinking "yep I feel ya" and others weren't good at all. So I have mixed feelings but I still think it's a fun book to quickly read through.

This was hilarious, and I loved the art.

the best thing about this book is the title.

the second best thing is the cover.

that's all there is to it.

this is part of a project i'm doing where i review books i read a long time ago. sometimes it's as simple as this.

WARNING: This book is most definitely not for children.

I read this book because it reminded me of the Politically Correct Bedtime Stories series.

Tumblr is a short form blogging platform. Each set of two pages in this book includes a tumblr-like post. The books goes back and forth between different characters - Peter Pan, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, and Pinocchio to name a few.

Unfortunately, that is where the tie to the fairly tales ends.

I could feel a reading slump coming on, and thought this would be a good pick-me-up. This story was funny and cute in a sense. It is a much more grown-up take on fairy tales and how they would end in a modern setting. I found some of the characters more enjoyable than the others, but I'm glad I picked it up

This was hilarious, and exceptionally relevant for me.

Whats fun/funny for me, may not be for you - thats the first thing to keep in mind when watching a movie claiming to be a comedy, a tv show or reading a book of fairy tales mischievously adapted to the 21rst century and our social media obsessed culture :)
That being said, this was a personally very funny break from the more serious reading i usually do, and it wasnt finished faster because i decided to make it last as much as possible!
What you have here are some of fairy tales most popular heroes in very modern situations - that can lead to hilarious results - The ugly duckling's obsession with instagram, Cinderella and her new found love of Crocs , Snow White and her crush on ryan gosling...and so on.
it reads easy enough and is entertaining - the only reason i dont give it a higher score is because, personally, i find the structuring of it somewhat confusing - the stories are all mixed up so one page you read about snow then the next one is little red ridding hood and then 5 pages later snow white's tale proceeds.
Still - if you have a sense of humour and enjoy fairy tales with a twist, take a peek - its got a few laughs guaranteed! :)

"...Peter Pan was determined to grow up and become a man. First step: stop hashtagging words aloud..."

"Jack became a minor celebrity after slaying the Giant, and he did all the late night talk shows - except for Conan O'Brien, who was too tall for Jack's comfort...."

Happy Readings!
