This issue was very spotty. I normally love the vitality and quirkiness of the stories, but this (guest edited) issue fell a little flat. The first half of the issue contained such heavy handed stories, I found myself yearning for subtlety. Yes, we get it-- human have destroyed/are destroying the environment. But, what about literary quality, narrative force, and subtlety of metaphor. So heavy handed.

Luckily, the second half of the issue was better. The final few pieces were good stories and conveyed their environmental message implicitly as part of the story. Looking forward to the next issue,.
