By far my favorite retelling of Snow White, where the princess isn’t a damsel. Can fight her own battles and has a nice version of Enemies to Loves.

Love Essie all the way!!!

I enjoyed this book and I love sci-fi

Coming Soon...

Oh my gosh this book was amazing!!!!!!! In all seriousness I saw this book at Barnes and noble and thought it had one of the prettiest book covers and I love fairytale retellings so I bought it (cause I mean when it comes to buying books I have no budget). So I started reading it and just couldn't stop. It was written so well and there were so many twists and turns along the way. Let me tell you the ending just gave me all the feels!!!!!!! Overall I absolutely loved this book. It's officially on my best books I've ever read list, and was a perfect start to my 2016!!!! Everybody needs to read this book!!!

“Brave is being scared and doing what needs to be done anyway”

“Feelings can’t be wasted. Knowing they’re real for however long they last makes them worth having.”

I read this book during the latest hurricane and it did a wonderful job of distracting me, it had a good plot and nice characters. I enjoyed it.

Just barebone hints of sleeping beauty. I was excited to read this ARC since I love Cinder (and her sequels) so much and the mechanically savvy fighting princess in hiding held a lot in common with her. I was not disappointed at all!
This unique little book tips its hat to swords and magic of classic fantasy, to high tech gadgets and planet hopping of scifi, but transcends those genres with such personable characters (including AI-ish drones the princess upgraded) and a great story.
I highly recommend this book to YA readers (young and older) even if fantasy or scifi aren't your usual thing.

Sci Fi retelling of Snow White. This time around Snow is no dainty damsel in distress waiting to be rescued. She's smart and tough. And trying to kiss her will likely lead to a violent end. When the story opens she's keeping a low profile and keeping her past in the past until a crashed transport with a lone, injured survivor upends the apple cart and forces her to confront her past and seek truth and justice.

The premise is interesting but the pacing and world building are a bit clumsy. I found the first 100 pages very slow. It does pick up. And, since I prefer to read without advance review, I really didn't realize it was going to be a retelling until my husband surmised it from the cover art. I then flipped it and read the jacket blurb. Surprise! Stitching Snow is primarily PG with a very chaste romance that does indeed end with a happily ever after. I don't think that's too much of a spoiler to give that piece of information away. However, the story has a twist on Snow's relationship with her father that is unsavory and dark, and, I felt, unnecessary and salacious. I feel like this single element moves it from middle grade readers to older readers.
