In the wake of the heavy and intense Cruel Summer, Team-Ups is refreshingly light. The narrative is broken into a series sub-stories, each told from the point of view of its central character. The format offers the opportunity to dig more deeply into the life of each member of the Hero Squad. The plot gives due attention to each lingering question or personal struggle, all weaving through the Squad's journey as they cope with the fallout of the last book's events. The result is a light but satisfying book, perhaps less gripping than its predecessors, but thoroughly enjoyable.

I like this book much less than the previous one for two reasons; Firstly it is written in a episodic way with several POV (unlike the previous ones) and I think the author isn't very good at handling that format. The voices isn't different enough between POV which is a let down.
Secondly, the author seems to have taken flak over the last books darker and more serious tone and toned it down a fair amount. That is really bad, because the effects and consequences from that book still is there and "lightening up" thing just means the bad stuff is glossed over and many things feels a bit superficial and shallow. It is sad because it is a better book in there ...
