This book is adorable, funny, quirky, sweet, not too cheesy of a romance plot line with an actual plot line too! Loved this book, I was rooting for her the whole time.

This was fun and full of great characters!  I loved the town - it reminded me of a literary Stars Hollow.  The main character was quirky, but the repetitive nature of her inner dialogue got to be a bit annoying.  I want more books from the side characters!  Worth reading!  4 stars

Contemporary fiction with diverse characters

Shauna Robinson's 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗚𝗜𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗦 is 𝗣𝗮𝘄𝘀 & 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 May selection. I listened to the audiobook and appreciated Imani Jade Powers' narration. I enjoyed how Maggie navigated the quirky rules of small-town life, and her underground book club added a rebellious charm to the narrative. I would attend her secret book club if it existed. Robinson cleverly includes a cameo about "Beloved" by Toni Morrison which was the P&P Book Club April selection. I am glad that Maggie and I share the same thoughts on that book. Also, I appreciated the nods to Canadian TV shows like "Kim's Convenience" and "Schitt's Creek." The quirky characters, like Malcolm and the lovably infuriating Ralph, added fun to the story. The romance was not swoon-worthy but Maggie's journey to find creative ways to help the book store make money kept me reading although I did not agree with them all. The book's quick pace and humor make it an enjoyable read, and the town's collective spirit was remarkable.

Another book that I love, even though it was a slow read in the first quarter lol. But I really liked Maggie being a 28 year old feeling lost because she wanted a job where she could meet new people and have fun. But often our society says fun is over once you become an adult and maggie was just like "nuh un." I loved that.
