Fun

A fun, fast, silly read for those times when you don't want to think too much and just have fun.

The story was highly unlikely but it was entertaining anyways and I quite enjoyed reading it! Not bad for a free download!

Agnes Barton is not a typical senior citizen. She drives a mustang, shops at Victoria Secret and swears like a sailor. When a girl goes missing in Agnes's home town of Tadium, MI Agnes takes a special interest. Her granddaughter also went missing and Agnes is sure the two cases (as well as a 40 some odd year murder) are related. Agnes and her best friend Eleanor start nosing around, asking questions and generally irritating people around town. I gave the book 3 stars because although I liked Agnes and Eleanor some of events in the book just didn't flow. The ending was tided up a little too neatly and although I have no problem stretching my imagination, they just weren't believable at all.

Never underestimate love and age

I didn't need a new book series to fall in love with, but this one grabbed me! I love Agnes and Eleanor! Great story, good plot twists and small town life depiction! On to more!

Agnes and Eleanor are senior citizens who live in the town of Tadium, not too far from each other. Agnes was married to a state trooper, who died young of a heart attack. She went to work as a cleaner and got hired by a lawyer as an investigator when she realized she was invisible to people and they would talk about all kinds of things when she was around. Eleanor is several years the elder, but Aggie kept her out of the nursing home when her son tried to put her away.
Aggie runs into her former boss, Andrew, when a girl disappears who is the daughter of his friend. They come to the town to look for her. Aggie also had a granddaughter disappear about a year ago. She feels that somehow this disappearance is tied up with her granddaughter's also. So, she sets about to talk to everyone she can who might know about the disappearances. She also suspects that this case is somehow related to the murder of a family that happened many years ago. Apparently she is close to finding out, because someone keeps shooting at her.

So funny

If you want to know how what 2 retired women do to investigate a missing girl, then read this book. There are so many funny parts that I kept laughing out loud. Reading this you wouldn't believe what Agnes and Eleanor get up. Shall I mention the special brownies lol.

2 stars - Lacklustre characters and prose, definitely does no live up to the hype of the blurb - very little comedy and the audio delivery is so flat pancakes have a better rise.

I had a hard time finishing this book. The story line and the characters are all too too much. There is a lot of sex and talk about sex and the mystery itself was very weak. There was no real investigation and the sleuth accidentally solved it. The author added a lot of scenes that did nothing to add to the story or mystery but just showed seniors acting crazy and I think they were supposed to funny but the humor fell flat. Due to the amount of sex, language and drugs I would not consider it a cozy.
