I'm so hooked. Don't want to put this story down now. Already picking up the third one. I'm so surprised since I had a hard time getting into the first one. Definitely recommend the audiobooks!

The main love-interest of the book is just horrible, sexist, entitled and worst of all abusive. Since this was written as a romance, I would advise to just compartmentalize and ignore everything he did at the end of the first book (so the whole basis of their "relationship") and most of what he says und does during this one if you want to enjoy it somewhat. If you struggle with it (like I did) I would suggest reading it as a horror novel about abusive relationships.

PS: I don't know where exactly the characters get their obsession with virginity (and weird understanding of it) from but... YIKES

Oh, holy crap, why did it have to end like that? Now I must wait until November to see how everything ends.

This series has kept me glued to my seat during the first two books, but I can’t wait to see what the ending brings for us. Will Natalia and Cristiano both make it to the end?

Hurry up November!!!!!!

WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW.

This series is SO *&%$@#! GOOD that I'm legit at a loss for words.
WOW.

Violent Ends, the second of three books in the White Monarch series by Jessica Hawkins, is that nail-biting, page-turning, gripping-your-hair-out-of-frustrated-anticipation kind of good. Yeah, like I said... WOW.

Violent Ends picks right back up where Violent Delights left off (with my jaw hitting the floor). Natalia Cruz, the sheltered and naive daughter of one of the most powerful drug lords in all of Mexico, has just been betrayed by the man that she loves. To protect her family and everyone she loves, Natalia sacrificed her future happiness and agreed to a wedding that felt more like a funeral. By accepting her role as the wife of a powerful cartel kingpin, she's now legally and spiritually bound to the one thing she so desperately wanted to escape.

However, Natalia soon learns that Cristiano is not at all the man she'd been expecting, and she struggles to sort thru her warring emotions. As lines continue to blur, Natalia doesn't know if she should fear him, hate him, or feel something else for him entirely. The only thing she knows for certain is that she won't stop searching for her answers until she finds them.

There is so, so, so, so, so much to love about this book. The simmering heat. The tension-filled power struggle. The witty banter. ALL. THE. FEELS.

"I lost my breath at the sight of his ass. I could've flicked a quarter at it and ducked as it ricocheted right back at me. Smooth with bronze, concave cheeks, it had more definition than his top-of-the-line TVS."

But man, oh man... that cliffhanger is brutal. I don't know how I'll survive the next few months without knowing what will happen next. For now, I can only hope and pray, and keep my fingers and toes crossed, that the title of book three - Violent Triumphs - is a sign that this story has a happy ending.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
