In retrospect, I guess I DID know that there were other books to the Harry books after "...Dirty Dog". I remembered reading No Roses as soon as I opened it, but By the Sea was a whole new adventure. The illustrations are great even after nearly 55 years! WOW! Even though this series has been through many generations of readers, it is still a winner!

Harry is adorable, and his adventures are laughable. We enjoy this classic tale.

Oh, Harry. Helping readers to challenge their perceptions while being adorable, and always assured he'll get back to his family post-hijinks. I understand the appeal of multiple books on this theme.

Harry goes to the sea, loses his family, and scares beachgoers when he gets covered with seaweed. I have always loved all of the "Harry" books, so I was thrilled that my 5-year-old is just as enchanted by them. She has asked for multiple readings of this story.

I love this book so much. As an adult I learned that I have a facial recognition disability (prosopagnosia) and I recently realized that condition probably made this book so much more relatable than it otherwise might have been.

This book is rather hilariously un-PC -- there are both "suntan oil" and "a fat lady"! :)

But it's cute and E loved it.
