The Flatshare is the first book by Beth O'Leary I have read. The plot and the dual POV were the aspects that primarily attracted me. Due to the writing style, Leon's first chapters became a challenge. However, I realised that, just as Tiffy's chapters represented her personality, Leon's factual and unemotional tone reflected his character and contributed to the narrative.

Even though sharing a flat in shifts is an odd way to meet someone, I believed in the characters' friendship and subsequent romance. This happened mainly because of the messages they exchanged via Post-it notes, which allowed each of them (and the reader) to get to know the other.

Finally, I'd like to highlight all the subplots that significantly intensified the book's dynamic. They allowed for the expansion of essential topics addressed by the book (e.g., abusive relationships, faulty justice systems, racial biases, and prejudices). I also loved getting to know Richie, Mo and Gerty, Holly, and Mr Prior!

This was so freaking cute, I loved our characters so much and I loved how their relationship developed. I also thought that the subject matter was dealt with really respectfully.

LOVED this book. I finished it in a day. Just what I needed as a break between series reading. Engaging, funny, sweet, emotional, and just absolutely lovely. All of the characters were all so human and well-written, they all really shined in O'Leary's writing. Also I ADORED Leon. He was absolutely perfect in every way and I loveeeeed him. I really enjoyed Tiffy too but I just want to emphasize that I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed reading from Leon's pov. Many times I feel like, a man's perspective or character is too boring, or uninteresting, or just not realistic. But Leon was just absolutely perfect. I loved reading this, it was SO much fun. would definitely read again
