I'm failing to see why this series is so popular.
(3.5 ⭐️) I accidentally stumbled upon this one in a secondhand bookstore and I was like ‘dude you wanted to read this for 5 or 6 years now maybe it’s time’ it was the time when the Artemis Fowl books blew up (I don’t remember how long ago so I’m estimating it’s around 5-6 years) I really wanted to read them back then but I read so much negative reviews that I thought yeah maybe not.
It was a really enjoyable read , I enjoyed the witty comebacks from Artemis and the banter between Folay and Captain Root. I still think that Artemis deserves a good smack. I won’t be buying the next books because they all have the anime like covers and I dont like them I like the old covers and I’m wishing the universe will somehow make the second book just magically appear in front… so I won’t be continuing this until the universe works it’s ways or someone generous enough would send me the next one.

The characters are funny and full of sarcasm. The story focused on the fairies, dwarfs, elves and magic mostly than Artemis. I like the fact that Artemis, even he's a prodigy, didn't anticipate other possibilities of his plan. It proved that people had limitations in terms of thinking. The story is good, in my opinion.

What a silly book. Boys have been getting excited about seeing it on my bookshelf for years, but I had never gotten around to reading it until now. I can see why so many of them liked it in elementary/middle school. It was filled with a lot of potty humor, but in a more tasteful way than I've come to expect from "boy" books. It was also pretty funny with some witty humor and puns. The leprechauns and fairies in the story were interesting and also a little different than what you'd expect. I liked how it jumped right into the action and how most of the book covers only one day's events. I liked all the plot twists and mysteries kept hidden from the reader, how each link in the plan was revealed only as it needed to be. I also really appreciated that the book was told from more than just Artemis's perspective because I think he would've annoyed me more if I'd been forced to focus on him too much. It was a good balance.
I'll probably read others in the series if I come across them, but I was satisfied with this as a stand alone. Quick and easy to read.

Still such a fantastic start to a fantastic series!! Ugh!! Not looking forward to watching the movie pull a PJO with it in a couple of days though...
