Harlan Coben spins a good mystery but this book definitely suffers from both being written in 2001 and having one of the most insufferable main characters.

Tbh I get why Elizabeth left for 8 years!! I would have simply stayed gone!

I must first say that I saw the film first and loved it. Out of curiosity, I read the book and I think the movie is better. It follows fairly closely to the book's plot until the end. The film actually has a better ending.
