I knew going into this that the case was unsolved, but I still was somehow bummed when it wasn't resolved.
I could really feel the author's dedication to Amy, and the amount of work hours and effort he put into this case definitely shined.
While I have my own feelings and idea of the most likely suspect, I'd have liked to know whom the author's main suspect is!

This was a fascinating case that I had never heard of before. It seemed very well researched and had me guessing the whole time.

This is an unsung hero of a true crime book. Last year, I read Renner's True Crime Addict, about the unsolved disappearance of Maura Murray. Being super-familiar with the case beforehand, it was enjoyable but nothing memorable. Renner wrote a bit in that one about his original true crime obsession-- the unsolved murder of Amy Mihaljevic. His heart and passion really shined through when he spoke of Amy's family and his work on that case. I made a note to check out this book, and it was fantastic. The case is a definite "whodunit" and it remains unsolved. This book really showed the day-to-day sweat involved with detective work. It honestly seems awful. But, for a true crime lover like myself, it was quite interesting. Not too many books give you breakdown of the nitty-gritty, the highs and lows, and the passion that allows people like Renner to keep going. His voice was intimate and intelligent.

I was just over a year old when Amy Mihaljevic went missing. I had no idea this happened near where I grew up until a year or so ago when my dad read this book and talked about how the case affected him. They had moved to Ohio not long before my birth.

It was interesting learning about this crime and the fact that it has never been solved made me incredibly sad. Renner does a good job of presenting the case and explaining his journey to discover what happened. I definitely recommend this.
