Truly scant garde, this book is more about experience than content

A story that feels like a manic almagamation of indigenous folk tales and Brazilian history. Archaic language and unconventional story structure makes this book hard to approach and difficult to appreciate. I probably did not get all that I could out of this book, though it does feel like an important piece of litterature.

This book was so entertaining and artistically put together. Andrade's narrative is a tornado of philosophy, comedy, and history. The New Directions edition also adds some great context through the introduction, afterword, and endnotes, which, as someone not familiar with Indigenous Brazilian legends, I found very helpful.
