It's just a fight with her parents, a stop at the coffee shop, and a stranger who offers to pay...but suddenly Gemma's been kidnapped. She's been drugged. She's been taken to the middle of nowhere. And the man who's taken her has wanted her - and watched her - for years. He seems to know her story almost better than she knows it herself. And as the hours turn into days, and the days turn into weeks, he opens up to Gemma - and she finds herself somehow, unbelievably, opening up to him. But how can she possibly have feelings for someone who's torn her away from everything she's ever known? And if she finally has the chance to escape...will she want to?
Stolen wasn't the book I expected. I thought it would be more gripping, more darkly chilling, than I actually found it. It's not the kind of on-the-edge-of-my-seat book that had me flipping pages madly to find out what happened next. But it is a very interesting psychological look at the intricate and twisted relationship between a captive and her abductor.

I really need this book to be a movie <3 I'm in love with this story. For sure one of my top 10 books as of right now!
4.25/5 stars
I didn't expect to enjoy this book so much!! It took me a little bit to get into it (I think I'm the only one that had this problem), but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I like the writing style, and how the book is written as a letter to Gemma's stalker. I found the concepts that the book explored really interesting, such as Stockholm syndrome and just the conflicting feelings that a kidnapping victim experiences. The way that the book is written is so raw and real and makes the reader go through the same emotions as Gemma. You start to feel like maybe Ty isn't so bad, and then you feel guilty and grossed out at yourself for thinking so. Definitely worth the read. It's an important topic to read about and educate yourself on.

I wanted to love this book, I did. But I could not get into it for the life of me. I think my hopes were too high going into it.
This book was an absolute M E S S!!! I chose to read it because I only had a $7 Amazon gift card and this was the cheapest book that I could find. The saying, âyou get what you pay forâ really prevailed with this book. There are SO many things that I didnât like about this book so I compiled a list to make reading this review easier.
WHAT I DIDNâT LIKE:
1. The main character in this book had an intense case of stockholm syndrome so reading her thoughts was difficult.
2. The plot of this story was just SO bizarre and strange!? Iâve never read any books about a kidnapping before but it just wasnât done well in this book.
3. This book is listed as âYAâ but it was very very mature???? Some of the adult romance books Iâve read havenât been this mature/graphic so I donât understand how this book is classified as âyoung adult.â (I put myself in a parentâs shoes and I would never ever be comfortable with buying this book for my 12 year old).
4. There are multiple scenes that contained borderline animal abuse and those scenes were really hard to read. I genuinely feel like the author couldâve very easily left those scenes out of this book and it wouldâve been fine. (just as bad but fine).
Those are the things that I didnât like about this book that I can think of off the top of my head but I just know there were more. I canât wrap my head around how this book won an Honor Book Award at all. Just donât waste your time with it.

The only reason I didn't like this book was because it was so detailed on the scenery, and so repetitively that I started to get over it. I wanted to know more about the actual abduction situation rather then the color of the sand. And I also thought it was a tad bit pitiful that what safes her is a snake bite.
Then again, it's just my opinion.

2.5 it was okay. Found it incredibly hard to read but maybe it was just because I was in a reading slump. I didnât find the actual book interesting thoughâŚ
I borrowed this book from a friend who had told me so many good things about it (I'd never heard of it before then) so I just had to read it. At first it was a bit slow, not much happened and Gemma was irritating me, but as the book progressed so did Gemma. She was really good at realising that no one was going to help her and did really well at taking matters into her own hands. One thing I was frustrated at was the ending. *DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT LIKE BOOKS THAT DONT TIE EVERYTHING UP*
