This story is so surrounded by infertility, donors, miscarriages, and pregnancy that you definitely could need a trigger warning! The author’s note on this made it so meaningful though, as she wrote it to help cope with her feelings of her own infertility.

As someone that’s going through the age of all her friends being pregnant right now, these characters could’ve been my friends down the street. It made the story that much more crazy and entertaining.

I felt for Olivia the entire story, though she wasn’t always a likable character. I always thought Park was fishy. I wanted Perry to end up with Olivia. And I couldn’t imagine Darby’s journey from start to finish.

This one has a ton of twists and turns, and while they could be predicted, I still wanted to tune in, which says a lot! I have a specific taste on thrillers, and this one floated my boat.

TW: this book deals MASSIVELY in child loss, infertility and miscarriage. It is a major theme and cannot be avoided. Proceed with caution.

Plot was super interesting. Characters were well done. Gratuitous big words throughout- not sure how any character could find a way to use the word “succor” more than once in a book

This was available on a whim so I read it, I really enjoyed it. I thought I knew what was going on and then quickly realized there were many more layers to this story than I could have imagined!

This story makes you think about the intricacies of DNA and really made me wonder about what the near future holds for folks who have been sperm donors or for families that were unaware of a secret second family. It’s very possible you could be linked to a crime simply by existing, and it’s also possible that your life could change overnight if you discovered (example) you had a bunch of half siblings.

You hear of these things every now and then, and this book did a good job of coming up with an exciting storyline along these lines.
