Olivia and Park have struggled with infertility for years. Olivia woke up to learn she had suffered yet another miscarriage. Before she even got a chance to tell her husband, the police were at their door with some questions about the recent murder of a local woman and DNA evidence that was found on her body. But it isn’t Park’s DNA they found - it belongs to a son he claims to have no knowledge of. Olivia isn’t buying it. He has a history of being unfaithful and lying. She knows he’s lying to her and to the police. What else is is hiding and why?

The mystery of this one had me hooked from the start. I went through so many different scenarios in my head before it was all revealed. The killer was revealed very early on so there were no surprises there but there was so much family drama and so many lies and secrets that added more layers to the mystery. There were definitely some aspects that brought on some eye rolls and required the suspension of disbelief but this was a fun read overall. Julia Whelan did a fantastic job with the narration, as always.

I’m probably in a minority here, but this just wasn’t it.
The premise is great and has all the promise for a great thriller. But the characters were so unlikeable and the plot was poorly thought out, researched, and written.
I found the characters completely unrealistic in their actions and relationships.

Took me half the book to even get into it. The storyline was all over the place with new characters constantly introduced and the story being uneventful.

The writing style wasn’t bad, and I will try another book by this author. This just wasn’t the story for me.

I was unsure about this book but I did get hooked if nothing more for proving I figured things out. I did not, but it kept my interest. Love the narrator as she is my favorite which sold me on listening to the book.
