The audiobook is a totally charming way to come back to this series. I read the trilogy years ago and enjoyed it but there’s something about epic stories and myths being told to the listener that brings another dimension.

So far its amazing! The movie missed so much. Still a good movie but it doesn't even follow the small details. Just rather the big picture.

I love all of Tolkien's story. I find it's real and I want to love in that story.

I can’t believe that I’ve finally finished this book after 110 days!!! I hit a pretty bad reading slump in July that stopped my progress in this book around the book 1, chapter 3 mark. Once I decided to sit down and finish the rest of the book 4 days ago, it flew by! I totally understand why the book is so beloved. It’s cozy and action-packed in all the right ways. However, I struggled with the style the story was told in just because it’s not how I normally enjoy my books. I prefer showing rather than telling, and that’s just not how LOTR is. So, I can’t really fault the book, because I knew what I was getting into! I enjoyed the Hobbit more, but I’m still really looking forward to finishing the series.
