Valerie lives in a much more conservative family than I expected-I didn’t read the description-so that was wild. There were still so many familiar thoughts and beliefs from my religious childhood. It did feel a bit like the author wasn’t able to tap into Valerie and like some of the thoughts were from someone who has already made it out or been processing a lot longer but overall a good book.

Excellent book - I couldn’t put it down until I finished it, it made me feel so many things. The main characters are wonderful, sweet, and relatable. It’s a story of resilience, hope, and perseverance.

I think It was fine. I think It might make newly gay young people think it’s cool and chill to have sex and move in with the first other gay person you met and that’s not always the right move. But it worked for this one. Would love to see a sequel that’s them in 6 years
