I listened to the audiobook, which is narrated by the author herself, and it opens with a short note about her own experience. The story deals with a heavy and honestly heartbreaking topic, but the way she tells it feels heartfelt and full of authenticity, imo you can really feel that it comes from a real place. I adored the characters and their journey. I was so glad things worked out for the FMCs, though it’s bittersweet knowing not everyone in this situation gets that kind of ending. Definitely worth the read.
