This book wasn't what I expected from it. However, it did deliver on the surprising found family dynamic, and by the end it did mainly make sense. The book, surprisingly, turned to focus on education and equity in Nigeria / Lagos which wasn't what I expected, however was really refreshing and interesting to read out.

For so many perspectives, this book never loses the thread. For me the highest praise I can give something is that I immediately want the fandom - I want the speculation of what came before to make these characters and what came after for them. I would definitely read more to know what lives in Yemi's heart, happens to Chike and Oma, if Fineboy ever gets his dream, if Isoken goes back to school, what changes, what doesn't. It all felt so real.
