Kurzweilige Space Opera mit starken Anleihen an Titeln wie Starship Troopers, ein bisschen "The Expanse" und irgendwie auch Full Metal Jacket.

Hoffentlich können die anderen beiden Teile der Trilogie mithalten.

Warum der Titel im deutschen unter dem generischen Namen "Krieg der Klone" erscheinen musste erschließt sich mir allerdings nicht.

Charming book, funny and sad and imaginative. Much better than Red Shirts, which was sort of a one joke pony where this is a real novel set in a detailed SF world with tons of ideas. I am not a big fan of military SF, but this is the most enjoyable example of the genre that I remember reading. The elderly characters made young again is a big part of the pleasure here, but there are also great alien races and loads of great SFnal ideas. A lesser talent could have gotten dozens of novels and worlds out of these ideas. I see he did continue the series... I'll have to look at some of the others.
