This book was a bit all over the place, I'm not quite sure what the whole first section where Violet is back at the academy was supposed to achieve, and then so much happened in the second half that it was difficult to keep up. Also why are they all so bad at talking to one another?!

I skimmed a big chunk of this one and the next one as well. I feel like the first book as definitely more exciting. Still not terrible though.
2.75 bc 3 stars feels too generous. the last 100 pages were incredible, but unfortunately the first 540 were… not.
