Merciless Kings is the first book in the new Boneyard Kings series and it’s a really quick read. Everly Walker is the niece of the university dean and she’s the target of the Boneyard Kings’ attention. Callum Connelly, Mateo Soto and Saint Devin are notorious bad boys around campus and Everly feels a strange connection to all three of them, even though she’s pretty sure it’s going to end poorly for all of them.
Everly is quiet, reserved, observant and heartbroken after her parents’ death. She tries to connect with her uncle, but it’s not the same. She’s really clueless when it comes to the Boneyard Kings and their motivations for targeting her. Callum, Mateo and Saint have been working on a plan for a while, slowly figuring things out and Everly is a part of that plan. But how she factors in, we don’t quite know yet. These three have a bond like brothers, looking out for each other in ways their families never did. Callum is the oldest - the protector, Mateo is quick to anger - the fighter and Saint is the first to smile - the charmer.
They’re still exploring their relationship and the dynamics between them, but there’s definitely some steam there. These three alpha anti-heroes captured Everly’s attention and vice versa, so I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationship will grow throughout the series.
My biggest hang up with this book was that Callum, Mateo and Saint never outright asked Everly if she knew anything about what her uncle was up to. There are a lot of assumptions made and that drove a lot of the conflict in this book. The action in the last 10% of this book relied solely on these assumptions and I just wanted more from them since the guys prided themselves so much on planning and preparation.
Reader beware - this book ends in a cliffhanger and it’s brutal. Already can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 to see where Becca Steele and C. Lymari will take us next!

Release: Dec 9, 2021
OMG what a cliffhanger, I am left with so many questions! I can’t wait for Vicious Queen Book 2. I was hooked right from the beginning of this book!
Everly Walker has moved from the UK to live with her uncle in the US after her parents passed away. Her uncle is her last living relative and is also the dean of her new college.
Saint, Callum and Mateo (The Boneyard Kings) come from the wrong side of the tracks and they all have their sights set on revenge putting Everly in their crosshairs.
This book had the right amount of angst, secrets, spice and intensity. This series is off to a great start.
Merciless Kings is a reverse harem romance with enemies to lovers and bullying themes. This is book one in the Boneyard Kings series, and cannot be read as stand-alone.

Everly’s parents recently died and she is forced to go live with her uncle. She now goes to Blackstone university where her uncle is the dean. There she meets the Merciless Kings (Boneyard Kings) Mateo, Saint, and Callum. They are “from the other side of the tracks” but they run lower side of the city. They all go to Blackstone university on scholarship. The kings are all adopted, and their adopted father was murdered and they have their suspicions on who did it. Their suspicions lead them to Everly and her uncle. Everly also noticed something odd going on with her uncle and starts investigating.
I will say this book checked all the boxes for me. MMC’s who are possessive and obsessed without FMC. An FMC who is somewhat vulnerable but will not give up until she finds the truth. And finally spice because I love some spicy books if you know what I mean.
I also listened to this through Audible and the duet narration with all the narrators were phenomenal. Everyone did an amazing job and I will be auto buying any books these narrators make in the future.

addicting
Such an addicting book! I was hooked from the beginning with the crazy dynamic of the Boneyard Kings and Everly. They think she is holding secrets and she just trying to figure out what they want while also giving herself over to her lust for them. This book ends on a crazy cliffhanger with everything exploding.
