This book was absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. I'm not sure if its good or not that I did this
description
A lot through the book, but I doubt it's bad however.
Im not sure how to say this, but this book sure surpasses the crap of a seires that's called Mercy Falls. No offense Stepfather, but I really do think this is your best work yet and don't ever go back to doing something so juvenile as the Mercy Falls series.

Anyhow, this book wasn't boring, yet it wasn't always on the edge of your seat - flipping pages like crazy, yet you can't stop reading it. Each chapter, no matter how insignificant you think, always has something interesting that will keep you engaged. I finished this book basically over a two day period. I was determined to finish it today, and I did. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.

Again - anyways, this book has everything you love. Characters with development and soul.
Each character has a distinct personality, back story - or well mainly everybody, and just is always pleasant to read about. Sometimes you want to cry - like I have a few times during this book and other times you want to throw your arms around in the air like a maniac. Quite like the GIF I showed before.

This book isn't a romance novel at all, unless you count hand holding a few times and refusing of kisses, then it is. However, I am quite sure it isn't and for all of you pre-teens to teens out there, just because there isn't romance doesn't mean its not a great book.

I can't believe I'm going to have to wait for the next one, but at least I'll be able to recommend this book like crazy.

My book club is currently tackling (or re-reading, for some) the RAVEN BOYS series together. Our undergrad university is nestled in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, making the setting very familiar and nostalgic! As @catsimpson_writes so succinctly put it, this series has an incredibly robust sense of place (even if, as I mentioned in book club, I was having trouble visualizing some of it!).

I love the cast of characters and find all of their intersecting and overlapping relationship dynamics to be interesting and well-done. And I love Gansey – because, of course I do. An intellectually restless Indiana Jones-meets-Milo (from Atlantis) character giving off major “tortured, privileged academic” vibes? Do I have a CHOICE?

The thing is, my rating of this book is suffering from a case of, “everyone told me this book would change my life, and it didn’t, so it isn’t living up to my incredibly high expectations,” despite the fact that the writing is beautiful, the plot is well-paced, and I’m interested in the premise and the story.

Also, I’ve been repeatedly told that this series has great queer representation, but I’m still waiting for anything more than my own conjecture to appear on the page...
