This was an intense ride; you are drawn in right from the first page and you are not released until the final page. This could so easily have been a movie rather than a book. What an edge of your seat ride; it’s one of these books that once you put it down you instantly want to pick it back up again to understand what happens next.

Darby on her way to visit her mother who is struggling to stay alive at a hospital in Darby's home state. Unfortunately, this news has come at a terrible time: it's Christmas Eve, and the blizzard of the century is beating down on Darby in her tiny car. With her phone battery depleted and the conditions becoming continuously more treacherous, Darby gets off the exit at a nearby rest stop....and the story really begins. 4 strangers are trapped with Darby at the same spot and while she initially takes comfort in the fact, she isn't alone, a trip out to her car to try to get cell signal changes everything. A small hand becomes visible through the back window of the Astro van belonging to one of these strangers, and it isn't a doll---there is a child locked in an animal kennel. Darby is horrified and realizes that with these dangerous and life-threatening conditions, it is up to her to save the child. But is there anyone she can trust?

With the small cast of characters, there are lots of twists and turns in this one that really do keep you guessing as to where the story is going to go and what will happen next. NO EXIT brings a fresh perspective to a genre rife with domestic noir, unreliable narrators, and off-the-wall twists delivered in the name of trickery. There's something to be said about an edgy, dark and action-packed thriller reminiscent of fear-inducing cinema in a book.

V interesting and engaging, had me hooked and finished it quite quickly - found myself wanting to read it when I wasn't and I really wanted to find out what happened next. Simple but loved it and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Another one that would make such a great film too!

I typically like a little more mystery and characters who are not so cartoonish. This was fine but not what I was expecting.

Read it because:
It's been on my TBR for a while, and I was able to listen to it with my Kindle Unlimited free trial.

Although I did read this book incredibly fast, I always struggle with books that have an overwhelming amount of “almosts”. I prefer to have true plot twists than small pivots due to an almost escape, or what can seem like an easy choice to continue the story of escape versus the actual plot. I did enjoy the plot and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

The plot was predictable from the beginning, and every hour's conflict was repetitive. Even for fiction, the storyline was too absurd.
