A quick enough read but a heart wrenching one. I cried multiple times (much to my husband's amusement). A sweet, emotional, beautiful story. I will miss Saturo & Nana.

This book was sweet. I listened to it on audio over the course of one evening and found it charming and heartwarming. There were some points where the translation felt a little awkward or disjointed, but overall this was a pleasant read.

Powerful book especially for cat lovers and those who love all animals. Just be prepared with tissues for the last 40 pages, I haven't wept like that in ages. Satoru is on a journey with his cat Nana a few years after rescuing him off the streets. They see beautiful sights and meet with old childhood friends of Satoru, but there's a reason, Satoru is seeking a home for his favorite furry buddy. That's all I can reveal if I say more I will spoil it although when he visits his friends there are flashbacks of when they were younger. This tore my heart out and why every animal story I read leaves me weeping and I swear I will never read one again, but they're like Disney movies, even if I have seen them as a child, always make me cry. These are my most intimidating books because I love animals so much, whether it's a happy or sad ending, books with animals will always make me cry. I will say this was insightful especially at the end with Nana's point of view, beautiful words to live by.

Seriously, get the tissues because I am still crying as I type this.
