this is not a poetry collection, this is an unedited draft that accidentally includes the same poem twice. i love halsey’s music and i was very disappointed that that talent didn’t translate into this collection as well as i believe it could have if someone had simply edited it!!! given notes!!!

3.5 stars. I absolutely love Halsey’s music and lyrics and really liked a few of these poems (especially “A Story Like Mine” which is such important topic) but I found that I either didn’t understand or just didn’t really like most of them. I love the cover art and did enjoy seeing some of her lyrics in there, but for the most part this was not a poetry book for me.

i honestly had no plan of finishing this in one day but i devoured it the moment i had it. the way ashley pulls you in with her poetry and gives nods to her music is absolutely beautiful and another side of her even non-fans can truly appreciate and wind their hearts around

This was honesty, love, heartbreak, abuse, tears, rage, healing and wonder. This was perfection. This was everything. ❤️

more of a 2.75. wanted it to be good but it really really wasn’t

I'm not a poetry reader but I enjoyed this book. They are honest, raw and some has clever rhyming styles. I liked those more than the ones written in a. prose(?) style. But it's definitely way way way more better than some other new style poetry books. I didn't feel like Halsey was being a tryhard. They all felt honest and sincere. So good job there.

Would recommend it if you enjoy modern poetry, if you're a Halsey fan or if you want to support queer female writers
