Halsey is an angel and her words are like her sword - It protects and it slays!

Halsey's poetry is just as you'd expect: breathtaking. She writes with the same ease and power that fills her songs. Her accounts are touching and inspiring, yet heartbreaking and melancholic.

Decided to go back and write reviews for the books I’ve read this year.

As a huge fan of Halsey, I was very excited to learn she was putting out a book of poetry. I received it for Christmas in 2020, and read through it several times.

There were some amazing poems, and some I found a little iffy. But overall, I loved the poems. I’m glad to have it on my shelf to go back to.

Unique, strong, weird, sexual, gross, great- it's a mix of nothing I would have expected and a true hidden gem that I probably never would have found if I hadn't of been a Halsey fan, but I like this regardless of her music, the writing flows well and it's paced wonderfully. Many poems have storylines, some of which will make you pause and ask if all this poetic memoir is true, hoping it's not but it probably is... this is strictly an 18+ poetry book btw.

I’ve been a fan of Halsey and her music since August 2015, and I really enjoyed this collection of poetry that she wrote in 2020. I loved how there were some lines that have ended up in her songs and I also really enjoyed reading about her life through her poems. I keep meaning to read more poetry, so I figured this’d be a great place to start, and it certainly was.

Plastic plants get watered a lot in this.
Is it kinda like pop lyrics and slam poetry written by an angry teen? Yes.
SA is a predominant subject theme in this.
It was readable but not much wowed me.

Halsey is an incredible artist so I had no doubt I would love her poetry collection. Her poetry is beautiful yet honest and raw. She is unapologetically herself and that captured my attention from the moment I began reading. There is so much depth, so much to unpack, and so much to learn. She takes the reader on a personal journey and even though she is very famous, her words are relatable on many levels. Absolutely loved this collection and highly recommend to anyone who loves thought provoking art.
