i found this to be a quick, easy read and a good entry-level sherlock holmes book. although the racist pseudoscientific theories dotted throughout the book were a bit jarring.

My favorite of the original novels. The chase scene on the Thames is exciting and Watson’s first meeting with Mary Morstan is very enjoyable
