In this book, Ama adds two additional mates. I normally don’t like the addition of mates in stories but there are a few that do them well. This is one. I also listed the one male as “unknown” above because his identity isn’t revealed until the very end at the cliffhanger and I don’t want to spoil that. I will say I was making some guesses throughout the book on who this mysterious mate was and he was one I thought of… I’m kind of LOVING the idea and interested in seeing how it turns out. As with the first book, I found all the characters enjoyable.

A great book two.  This chick just can't seem to stop herself from amassing more mates and I'm not mad at the final edition to the harem.

Now will she be able to get back and lead the battle against the dark elves trying to take over her realm?  I mean, with her newest mate how can she not?

Couldn't remember the first one and MC was too passive.

Entertaining! Needs some sort of resolution with this mate thing- it's getting old.

I really can't imagine anymore that I was doubting this series and that I was fearing it wouldn't be for me. Damn! If I had ever read this series after declining the offer to read the arc I would have hated myself for not grabbing the chance to read these books around the release date. The first book was incredibly addictive and had amazing characters, so I was very excited to read how their story would continue and what would be waiting for them in this second book.

Although the book took a different turn from what I had expected, I really enjoyed everything this book had to offer. We're discovering an entirely new part of this world and the new part is breathtakingly beautiful. I understand that the characters have better things to do then staying there and enjoying the place, but I totally would have loved to see much more from it! However, at least we now know what our characters are truly fighting for.

Speaking of the characters, I really loved how the relationship between Ama and her guys develops in this book. There are a few thrilling twists in this book, but the emotional growth and depth is one of its main strengths. Every guy gets his moment to have an emotional and intimate moment with Ama. For some guys loving and sharing her is easier than for others, but that's exactly what makes this book so interesting. Everything is far from easy and the characters really have to work for everything.

It was also truly amazing to watch Ama grow in this book. Although plot wise this book was kind of a middle book, where the plot from the first book stands slightly on hold, Ama needs this journey, needs all these moments with her men, needs the confrontations and the challenges, to become the person she certainly needs to be in the last book in this series. Especially after the cliffhanger the finale can only become thrilling! I'm looking forward to it!
