Some cool stuff here and there but overall this is the least interesting Old Republic novel I’ve ever read.

Good enough sci fi pulp to get into the game.

When, on the first page (if not the first sentence), a character was introduced named Jet Nebula, my expectations on the quality of this book fell to floor. But I was surprised. The plot was a little predictable, but there was good action, some nice plot twists, and good characters. I haven't read too much Star Wars fiction, so I don't really have a huge appreciation for it, but this one was good.

One of the better Star Wars stories that I have read. The characters were engaging and the story a whole was very sleek and fun. The finale was a bit odd but I have to expect that from the Old Republic stories so not really a big deal this time.

I liked this book. It had a lot of interesting characters, and I thought it did a good job of showcasing the differences between the Jedi and the sith. It wasn't a stunner though. It didn't leave me with big emotions or really rooting for one team over the other.

Fairly insipid on all points--prose, portrayal of Star Wars backstory, and characters. Fairly is putting it much too fair. Williams is rote in his conventions, his narrative arc and his tone. It really hasn't anything to recommend it. Unbelievable conflict; eyebrow-quirking inanity in Jedi-Sith relations; dead-end dearth of subtlety. Da. That's sums it.
