I loved this author’s Nightside series and I feel like this is just a rewrite of that. The main character uses some of the exact same lines as the main character in the Nightside series.

This was fun. A mix of locked room mystery combined with eldritch and not so eldritch horrors.

I saw this reviewed on a couple of book blogs that I follow and it has a lot of the elements I love in a good story: characters, plot, and the fantastic. I will definitely be reading further with this series.

What a nice surprise from Simon R. Green. This book was a lot of fun. A mix of a classic British murder mystery with urban fantasy. Can’t wait to read more of this series.

This was incredibly silly and very cliched... But a whole lot of fun because of it.

The ending could have been better, though, and if he has to think or say "the dark side of the road"!9!3 more time... :p

Simon R. Green is usually entertaining, but I had a really hard time getting into this one. And some of the things that popped up, just made me shake my head, put my eReader down and walk away for a bit. I did finally finish, but this isn't a series that I would read again. A big chunk of it at the beginning just dragged on and on and made me wonder why I was still reading. But I really enjoyed Green's Nightside books, so I kept at it. In the end, it just wasn't worth it.
