I listened to this as an audioplay and I gotta say, it greatly elevated the experience! Very interesting where the whole vampire lore comes from in modern media,
I found it especially interesting that when you kill the vampire that sired someone the ones he sired that had not fully turned are cured of the "curse". Also personal highlight is van Hellsing taking the doors out of their hinges in the castle so they can't slam shut behind him fhsksj.
Also I found interesting that literally no adaptation has gotten the plot of this book even remotely right XD also none seem to really get Jonathan? V interesting. Anyway I enjoyed it!

the production of re:dracula? 100/10, seriously so atmospheric, all the voice acting was insane, the production choices were fantastic, the original songs (instrumental and sang) were phenomenal, they really made it their own (with a silly little end credits i can quote now, just like my other fave podcasts)

the story of dracula? 7/10? some days/entries really really lived up to the hype, especially when mr count sir actually decides to show up. but so much of this book felt like the montage in an action movie where they are preparing to fight the big bad,,, because it was.
a quarter of the book is gothic/vibe spooky stuff happening and them being like... o..k.... a quarter is horror spooky stuff. and half of it is. just. montage... i guess stoker can get a pass since film hadn't been invented and thus montages didn't exist but?

glad i read it for the lizard fashion, the polycule, and the map fiend dear madame mina <3 oh also the songs are fire actually, it deserves a second mention

Okay SO, I started reading along with Dracula Daily in 2022, but I didn't get every email and I let myself get behind. So I gave up like 2 months in. But! I started listening this year to Re: Dracula, and have been able to keep up! The audio landscape is layered and illustrative. The voice acting is fantastic. Such a great experience. I've read this before in class, but I didn't find it scary. Like I know it's an early horror novel before horror as a genre existed (an oversimplification), but I didn't see the horror in it. This version made me see the horror, the fear, and made it scary for the first time! That is so cool!
