I absolutely LOVED this book! James is the best mix of Kenji and Warner. He’s got the goofy, funny side to him but at the flip of a switch, he is lethal and serious. I love how old characters are part of this story too but the main focus remains on James and Rosabelle. It’s so good being back in this world. I need the next book badly!!

I am without a doubt incredibly biased with my rating because this book could have been hell itself and I would have given it 4 stars for just having warner, juliette, kenji, and did I mention warner? I LOVED ALL THE OG CHARACTERS!!! Their interactions are as entertaining as always and Kenji is just so funny.
Now for the actual plot. It was definitely intriguing. I do feel it was slow at times-there was a lot of filler scenes. But I am excited to see what happens next!!
The romance was…really weird. They stare at each other a whole lot. There’s no tension, no banter, no witty retorts. No chemistry WHATSOEVER. They just didn’t have enough substantial interactions to justify James intense obsession with her.
Rosabelle reminds me a lot of Juliette in the first book except she’s even worse. I just wish she had more of a personality

This book was not bad but at the same time it also was not really enjoyable. I enjoyed reading about the characters again and once again being dragged into the Shatter me family but the book did not deliver that much. Feel like at this point the series is just being dragged out, but I will still reading the next book when it comes out. 🙈

okay so I read this in like 2 sittings but I cannot believe the book ended like that.
anyways my thoughts on the new character rosabelle is that i don’t think she was the most insufferable fmc but she definitely wasn’t that great in my opinion? Like she had has a lot of potential for the next books but I found some parts just sooo frustrating to read (like I get she has a lot of trauma but some parts were just too much? Idk), also kenji and aaron are my kings because why was this book somehow funny and dark at the same time like i was genuinely dying.
Thought on james and rosabelle, idk the chemistry wasn’t really it, like it was kind of cute near the end

when rosabelle actually started talking to him about her past and was actually opening up and he was becoming you know sympathetic because it’s james. Like this has me anticipating what is going to happen next because of the high stakes high stakes and like what this is going to cost james. Just considering his character I know he’s going to help her especially with rosabelle’s sister being tortured in ark island. (I just know kenji, aaron, juliette and adam are going to be pissed)

Like you guys only saw each other for what 5 minutes and now you’re head over heels in love (i just don’t get it, but that might just me).
