I will say, the writing in this book is so fast paced, I felt like I was getting whiplash. On the other hand, because it was so fast, I absolutely flew through it. However, the writing is awful. Wattpad awful. Which I've read other books of that nature and they were a little cringe but not downright insufferable as this book is. I'm surprised these authors have written so many books and they still suck so much.
Also, the SA is too much to handle and so casually written in, I feel it's not handled with nearly as much care as it should be.
I don't think that I would recommend this book to anybody.

As you can probably guess if you have read any of my previous reviews, I often let my curiosity get the better of me, especially when it comes to social media. Yup. Booktok & bookstagram are sources of inspiration and frustration in equal measure.

In this case, Zodiac Academy has been talked about so much that, despite my misgivings, I had to experience the ZA phenomenon for myself; and now that I have, I am still on the fence.

This book was not bad (but then again my expectations were really low) but it was not what I would term as great either. The writing was ok but engaging and the story was easy to get into if a bit derivative.

But here’s the thing, rating wise this comes out as a middle of the road book BUT it came into my hands at exactly the right time and I kind of enjoyed losing myself in the easiness of it.

All in all, it kind of reminded me of an 80’s bodice ripper. It might not rate as a great work of fiction but it was entertaining and it hooked me enough that I will continue to make my way through the series. A solid 3.5 star read that is a good bit of fun.

This was so addicting!!! Again, the graphic audio was phenomenal and the plot was entertaining as well.

I loved the magic system and world building. They were much better than I expected, especially because lots of people describe Zodiac Academy as a not well written book with cringy dialogues. As far as the written part goes, I can’t really assess that, simply because I listened to the graphic audio. But the dialogues and some of the actions of the characters were in fact cringe, but very amusing. I was right to go into this not expecting a perfect book, because the vibes were vibing.

I can’t believe how cruel 95% of the people at Zodiac Academy are and I truly despise the Heirs (I know we’ll like them at some point but right now I wish they’d just go away). Overall, the people at this school are very unreasonable, irresponsible and selfish. I can’t stand almost all of them, which is probably because there is NO CONSENT regarding every action connected to the twins. Some were so shocking to me, my mouth was on the floor. I really don’t like the way abuse is glorified here (esp because there’s a sexual encounter between two people), so please keep that in mind if you read this book. Definitely check your trigger warnings!

Nevertheless, this was one of my most entertaining reads and I really want to start the second book NOW!!!

The graphic novel at times was great, and at times was annoying (the sniffing in particular). The story had some HP feels, but a lot of differences. Lots of mysteries to still be solved, lots more secrets to be revealed.
