My 10 year old wanted me to read this after he loved it. It's cute and engaging but the resolution happened a little too fast and easy after a lot of build up. Great sci-fi for kiddos though.

I loved this book! This is the first chapter book I’ve finished with my 5yo! She was so invested. Every time we had to put the book down, she would try to guess what Bell would do in the next chapter.

This is a great book that explores the importance of friendship, community, communication. And it has some cool science (not just science fiction)! I recommend this book for any young readers interested in space and what life could look like on a different planet.

3.5 stars. A solid readaloud with my son. A creative, heartfelt take on what settling Mars might look like, narrated by an 11 year-old (who seemed younger than 11 sometimes.)
