Loved as much as, if not more than ACOTAR. Can't wait for book 2 - what a cliffhanger. If you consider yourself a Nesta fan, get ready for Raeve! She is Nesta x10. Great world building, dark humor, yearning. This book left me devastated at times. Gut-wrenching.

Loved this book! Interesting world and magic system that is different from any other book I’ve read. The characters and creatures were all interesting. It seems as if Parker really thought about each one and their backstory to give the characters depth.

The story itself takes the reader on a journey, and while a little slower than most other novels, like a proper journey every step along the way is interesting and each is worth it in the end.

Would highly recommend to veteran fantasy readers as well as those new to the genre.

Read this and initially didn’t like it but bestie had me reread it. I do think I was super distracted the first time I read it and I couldn’t keep up with the storylines. Second time around I thoroughly enjoyed. I did have to go back and relisten to several parts when I got distracted. Super fun read.

DNF’d halfway. I love the worldbuilding and writing style, and I loved the first quarter of the book. But it was just a little too dark, and the plot was boring. The dragons hardly show up. It just was not the story I was expecting.

Maybe this wasn't for me, but i feel like I spent 20 hours of this book desperate for it to go somewhere. It felt like 3/100 secrets were solved here. I LOVE the world building. The dragons, the paper larks. Its so cool. But the fmc drives me batty with her recklessness especially when she's supposed to be a top assassin and the mmc is hot. I like how he talks to her but bro, barely any actual movement in their misunderstandings. This book should have been half as long. Probably won't keep going which is a bummer.

Easily my favourite fantasy book I’ve read. Their love story is so achingly beautiful and so poetically written. Clashed against the violence of the world and their past. The world building and lore is so incredible!! I can’t believe I’ve finished it I need book 2 now

When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker was my first dive into her work, and I can confidently say it will not be my last. From the very first page, I was completely captivated. The story and characters were not just remarkable—they were unforgettable. Parker’s ability to paint vivid imagery of the world and its moons was nothing short of magical; I felt transported, as though I were living within the pages.

What truly blew me away was the ending—I never saw it coming. It was bold, emotional, and brilliantly executed. I felt bound to this book, unable to put it down and completely immersed in the experience.

This is officially my first 5-star read of the year—and I don’t hand those out lightly. I’m already eagerly anticipating the next book in the series!
