60% of this book was super interesting. But the way the sex was handled between two characters was for lack of better words icky. Not the spice of it but the actually reasoning and what not. 

I lived the way she wrote about settings and the flowery writing but the characters didn't really have solid conversations. It was very much just quips. And didn't give you any insights.

After more thoughts on the book: the character development and conversations read like a higher leveled YA book but the torture and fighting read like an epic fantasy. It felt very out of place. 

I really truly liked the plot , I thought it was nice and interesting but the carry out and everything else was not done well.

the way the Other was described as the final revenge plot honestly seemed too much. I mean sure the thoughts about hating Tekk with his chair made you understand it but still. Wanted more character development . Also the sex scenes between Rave and Kaan we're uncomfortable due to the fact that the sex was a bargening tool.

A slow start, a lot of aggressive language (“the tincture bottle was choked by a dangling label”) and anger, vengeance
I really got hooked halfway through as the mysteries kept piling up and every answer came with more questions.

I loved this book, was perfect way to get lost in another world. Lots of world building with a good balance of story. 
I read the last 2 thirds of the book in one day, I was reading as I did everything - could hardly put it down. 
I am looking forward to book 2!

the prose and flashback style make it a little hard to follow at times but the story is so worth it. I would recommend some tissues and a stress ball with this one.

You absolutely need to read the prefix and definitions on this book, BEFORE you try to jump in. I took the advice of my friend who had got about half way through and realized she had messed up by not doing so.... So I did and I can say without question that this book was beautiful. I adored the character development and the scenes where painted so vividly that I felt like I could reach out and touch them. Certain scenes I felt like I was right there with the main character living the issue or the battle. I don't want to give anything away, but I promise this book has it all... War, distraction, selfishness and a little romance. This was the perfect amount of pages and timing... The ending wasn't as much as a cliff hanger as some of my recent reads, but, it did end in a way that will have you coming back for more, the story is definitely not over yet.  .. I can't wait to read book 2..
