Idk i have literally no idea what's going on and I just do not care. Oh well
Too long and confusing. I hate having to use a glossary in a fantasy book!

As long as this book is it felt like only 3-4 things happened. The slow burn, not just for the romance, but for the plot was excruciating. And the ending didn’t feel like a cliffhanger, it just felt like it stopped in the middle of the story.
The characters are great, but the experience of reading it was hard.

The writing was so complicated and difficult to understand. I kept rewinding to try and figure out what I missed - but it was just SO descriptive that I didn’t actually know what it was saying. :(
Part of me wants to take away at least a star for this lacking and ending… but it had me in a chokehold so I’ll just deal with that.

You know when a book has all the makings of a good book, but for some reason just isn't? I struggled with this one, and honestly it was that the plot kept getting more intriguing that kept me going. Because ultimately I just kept losing interest.
Weird, because the premise is good, the characters engaging, there's action, mystery, tension, spice. It has all the elements of a book I'd love... and yet. It almost felt as if the author could live every sentence but failed to translate it in a way that clutched at the reader. As if critical elements were kept from us that would have brought it all together. And not on purpose, but because sometimes an author forgets that the book is for an audience of more than just one.
I honestly don't know if I care enough to read book two once it's released. The magic and world building is complete. But we start getting drawn into the supporting cast's perspectives and i feel like that makes it too meandering.
If it were just the FMC that loses a loved one and wants revenge but gets captured only to be rescued by our MMC who she doesn't trust but can't seem to kill... maybe. If the dual pov that delivers backstory felt more relevent... maybe. If the dragons that became moons upon their death were more prevalent... maybe. I'm not sure.
My first thought upon finishing this was... I just don't know. My second was meh.
