Picked up this book a couple of months ago but set it down after the first few chapters. This month I have a reading challenge to give a book “another try”. So I picked it up again and finished it (it’s a short book). I’m a big fan of Japanese short chapter books, but despite the cover flap stating this book is great for fans of Before the Coffee Gets Cold it’s not. Didn’t enjoy it at all. I’d suggest instead reading What You Are Looking is in the Library while you wait for the next Before the Coffee Gets Cold book to come out.

I read this as a pallet cleanser after a fantasy.
It was a short, cute, story about the existence of a cat, living out the remainder of his 9 lives as a ghost.
The cat watches over the people and places he loved when he was alive while making very cat-like observations about humans and their world.

What a delightful story and jaunt through history!  I enjoyed the audio version of this book a lot… Just what I needed these days - a reminder that all things come to pass.
