First of all, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this ARC. I feel privileged to have witnessed Grimalkin’s life and observations of the world across the span of nearly 150 years.

This book has no plot. And that is not a criticism. Sometimes observing the world, the passage of time is an art and I appreciated the calm of this book.

I fully plan to gift this charming novel to my friends after Pub Day!

Interesting portrayal of humanity and its endeavours with a funny commentary from a Victorian cat across his 9 lives over time. Made me laugh and cry several times.
Fav quotes:
"It was a happy, calm mode of communication, much unlike the shrieking voice-pollution insisted on by so many dunderheaded humans." -referring to cat language.
"Mercy, mercy! Hellish instrument of death, reveal thy purpose or begone! [...] You would have me think you dead, beast, but I will not be so foolish. You and I shall always be at war, FIE FIE!" -referring to a vacuum cleaner.
