I won this book in a giveaway. The beginning of the book started out strong, and I thought Elizabeth's mixed feelings and guilt about being attracted to someone else were realistic. Then all of a sudden she was madly in love. I would have liked to see the development of that a bit more, and of her, Jemmy, and the children becoming a family instead of all the tribulations that they faced in trying to get married. They were hit with one thing after another and it became too many things. Also, they built Jemmy's father up as this amoral, evil tyrant so I didn't understand the complete change of character at the end.

I *really* liked this! One thing that can bug me about romances is that the plot is entirely character driven, often by simple miscommunications on the part of the main characters. It was fun to read a book where the characters were settled in their feelings by the first 1/3 of the book and the rest was external factors getting in the way. There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book! I loved it so much I read it in an afternoon!
