I was avoiding this book like the plague, simply because I didn’t believe a romance book could keep me intrigued for 800 pages.

I was wrong.

Now I’m in way too deep

This book is so emotional but so good. Johnny and Shannon are so good for each other and so cute. I love that you get to be in both of their heads even if Shannon’s chapter can be difficult to get through because of what happened to her. I love this book so much all the characters are amazing and I love their group of friends.

Main character has pick me energy, the main love interest is overconfident and controlling.

I'm obsessed.

I haven't laughed this hard or felt this deeply for characters in ages. Originally I wasn't even going to read this series as it's considered a sports romance and they are not my cup of tea... but I am so glad I got talked into it.

The book is set in 2005, and I was in high school in 2005 so this book felt like being back in high school in a way most high school books can't even begin to emulate. Johnny and Shannon are perfect for each other and I am bursting at the seams to continue their story, and I'm chomping at the bit to read more of Gibsie as well because his and Johnny's friendship reminds me so much of my boyfriend and his best friend in high school. I can't say enough good things about this book, tbh. If the only thing putting you off is that it's a sports romance... give it a try anyway. Trust me on this one.
